Privacy Policy for Grok Automation

Effective date: April 29, 2026

Grok Automation is a Chrome extension designed to help users automate their own prompt workflows on Grok.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, how that information is used, and how it is stored.

1. Information the Extension Handles

Grok Automation may handle the following information only for the purpose of providing its automation features:

  • Prompt text entered, pasted, or imported by the user.
  • Prompt queue status, retry count, run state, and activity logs.
  • User-selected settings such as generation mode, aspect ratio, video duration, random delay, retry limit, output count, and auto-save folder name.
  • Source images or videos selected by the user for workflows that require source media.
  • Generated media URLs detected on Grok pages so the extension can save generated files when auto-save is enabled.

2. How the Information Is Used

The information handled by Grok Automation is used only to provide the extension’s core features, including:

  • Running user-selected prompt queues on Grok.com.
  • Applying user-selected settings to prompt generation.
  • Uploading source media selected by the user when required by a workflow.
  • Tracking queue progress and showing activity logs inside the extension.
  • Saving generated images or videos through Chrome’s Downloads API when auto-save is enabled.

3. Local Storage

Grok Automation stores queue data, settings, run state, and activity logs locally using Chrome extension storage. This data is stored on the user’s browser and is used to keep the extension’s interface and queue state available between sessions.

4. Data Sharing

Grok Automation does not sell user data.

Grok Automation does not send prompt text, media files, settings, queue data, or activity logs to a developer-owned server.

The extension operates on Grok.com pages selected by the user. Any data submitted to Grok.com, including prompts and uploaded media, is processed by Grok/xAI according to their own terms and privacy practices. Grok Automation does not control Grok/xAI’s data processing.

5. Downloads

When auto-save is enabled, Grok Automation uses Chrome’s Downloads API to save generated images or videos. Files are saved inside the user’s Chrome Downloads location, using the subfolder name selected in the extension.

6. Permissions Used
